You know the saying, "Everyone is famous in a small town?" Well the same goes for a small school. Hopper & I both attended a small private Christian high school in Eads, TN. Everyone knew everyone's business at our high school & I loved every second of it... for the most part. Honestly, our school felt more like a rather large family than anything else.
While Hopper was a junior, & I was a sophomore, Hopper's sister, McKenna, was a senior & held a position on the school's student government. Part of her job was planning out the homecoming pep rallies.
Well, this year in particular, they wanted to host a Twinkie eating contest with a twist. They called down 8 people (3 sets of students & one set of teachers) to participate in this homecoming competition. Hopper & I were called down to partake in this competition.
During the competition, one of the partners stood in front of the other with their hands tucked behind their back. The partner in the back had to stick their arms through & open each Twinkie & feed it to the other person. After barreling through all of the Twinkies on the table, the Twinkie eating partner had to find the Hershey kiss in the whipped cream pan that the partner in the back shoved in their face.
Hopper & I both come from extremely competitive families. Therefore, when I came down to meet Hopper on the gym floor, he told me "we better not lose." The pressure was on. I was not about to be the reason we lost this family friendly homecoming game.
Hopper & I ended up beating the other 3 sets of partners & each of us won an iTunes gift card. Meanwhile, to this day, Hopper will not eat a Twinkie & cringes at the thought of them. Was it worth it? I'd say so! Ha!

Below is the video from this pep rally. Please listen to my mother screaming "faster!!!!!" #CompetitivenessIsGenetic
p.s. pay close attention around 0:18 for a slight mishap 😮😅😂
Happy #ThrowbackThursday from these #MiddleSchoolSweetHearts that turned into #HighSchoolSweetHearts & then #LifeLongSweetHearts!!!
