On April 7, 2018, Hopper & I got to celebrate our engagement in the most enchanting way. It was a night filled with all things joyous. An open wine & beer bar and some of Memphis's best catered food was more than enough to keep our close friends and family entertained. Hopper & I are fortunate enough to have my mom & her best friend, both of whom spent so much time planning our fairy tale night. This party was one with greenery and flowers throughout the entire house with the focal point (other than the engaged couple, of course) being the 50+ tulips hanging from the chandelier! I mean, talk about jaw dropping!

Dressing up has been one of my favorite things to do since I was a little girl, therefore, Hopper & I both took this party as a chance to dress our night up! We didn't care what everyone else wore, we just wanted to have fun with it! While becoming a blushing bride, I obviously wore a white dress (with pink pumps, duh!) & Hopper wore a sports coat with a pink button down (to coordinate with the pumps, but you already knew that 😉 ) paired with his blue suede shoes (M E M P H I S pride)!

When it comes to hair, I am fortunate enough to have a best friend that doubles as a super talented hair dresser who was sure to come over early and prep my hair for the party! Honestly, I think he & I both felt like movie stars & I wouldn't have wanted it any other way.

At any party, nobody should go hungry or thirsty. A few of our menu items consisted of pork tenderloin sandwiches, mac & cheese (Hop's fav), potato skins, salad, many types of dip, Gibson's donut holes, Whimsy Cookies, wine & beer galore!

While doing everything wedding themed, we all know there has got to be something old (my house), something new (my pink pumps), something borrowed (my sister's camera), & something BLUE (jello shots!!!!)

Throughout the night, I stayed indoors and made my way around the party so that I was sure to talk to every guest that came through the front door. Meanwhile, Hopper spent most of his night outside by the fire with some old guy friends! (dudes just being dudes) Fortunately, Hopper & I have been blessed with many friends and family who truly love us.

unfortunately, not everyone who attended, but a good bunch!

The night consisted of pictures, drinking, eating & laughing. A few of us tapped out the evening with a full blown dance party (no other way, right?!). It was truly a wonderful time had by all. Hopper & I are already counting down the days until our next big celebration!

A few helpful tips from this blushing bride:

1. Designate a bridesmaid (or anyone) to be your photographer for the night, so that they capture every moment (s/o to Madison)

2. When ordering customized cups... check the size (this is where the jello shots came into play... s/o to Olivia)

3. If you really want to eat while your guests are there, then make a point to eat while everyone else is or you never will (I didn't)

4. If you do something like the donut holes, order 4x the amount you're planning on ordering

5. Don't sweat the small stuff (I forgot how to get the speakers in my house to work, so we improvised with a Jaw Bone speaker!)

6. Try to say hi to everyone that comes, you'll be happy you knew who all was there

7. Have a ball!

xoxo
